Project Blackout!
Normally, the emails that come out on a Sunday from WSA are a "uh-oh ... it's raining," or "what's changing this week," or "what the heck is Jamie blabbering on about now."   Well ... this one is different ... this one ... well, this one hits closer to home for so many, and on so many levels.

As most everyone aware, this week is Blackout Cancer Week, and WSA is helping to commemorate the 10th Anniversaty of Windham Blackout's support of Project Blackout.

Project Blackout (http://www.projectblackoutusa.org/, or on Facebook at @projectblackoutcancerWindham) helps to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, and provide support to local families that have been impacted by this awful disease.  This isn't just a story you see on the news from a town you've never been to ... this desease has taken hold of many members of our own community - our neighbors ... our friends.  It's a disease that impacts some of the youngest, most fragile members of our family - yes - all of us here in Windham are very much a part of a family.

As a way to show to our support, we are encouraging all of our players (travel and rec alike!), our coaches and our parents to wear their Blackout T-shirts to practices all this week (either the new 2021 shirts that can be picked up starting Monday, or any of your previous blackout cancer shirts).  Feel free to share photos of your favorite players, families, and friends at practice in their Blackout Cancer garb, showing your support, to our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages for all to see!!

In addition, this week our travel team coaches will be receiving "Project Blackout" eyeblack that will be distributed to our players that they can wear if they choose during their games next weekend, to help further spread awareness for this important cause as we travel to other communities all throughout New Hampshire!

Be sure to checkout the the links above, and look for info about the various Blackout Cancer High School games this week, culminating in the huge annual Blackout Cancer Football Game at Windham Highschool on Friday, 9/17 at 7pm.

We hope you are able to join us and show your support for this worthy and important cause that has impacted so many families - OUR families - right here in Windham.

And remember ... together, we CAN Blackout Cancer!

Griffin Park Entrance and Exit

Good afternoon!  We hope everyone is ready to enjoy the long holiday weekend ...

Just a quick reminder from the town, who is currently working on adding additional signage and working with the Windham PD to increase patrols and awareness:

For those of you using Griffin Park – please note that traffic is ONE WAY - there is SINGLE entrance, and a SINGLE exit

The sole Entrance is the one closest to Johnson’s Farm, and applies to both lanes of the parking lot.  Due to safety, we want to remind you not to enter through the exit.

Please remind family members who might be visiting the Park for the day as well as help spread the word to any visiting teams, as we are extremely concerned about the safety of our residents, especially our kids, in the parking lot.

Thank you!
