WSA/SCSC Spring Addition Travel Tryouts - 11/13 & 11/14

Windham Soccer Association is proud to be able to offer one of the largest, most competitive, and most well-respected travel programs in the State of NH.

Each fall, we hold tryouts to allow us to fill any open spots on our current travel team rosters and explore opportunities to add teams if the numbers allow.  Tryouts are required for everyone interested in any Travel program, to include our Senior Boys and Girls South Central Teams.

Each player is evaluated by a select group of professional trainers, and with the help of feedback from coaches and directors, is placed on a roster that is associated with their age-appropriate skill level, the knowledge they display of the game, and their willingness to participate and follow instruction.  If a child is not deemed to be at a level appropriate for the program, they may not be placed on a roster.

Travel team selection is based on the individual and the availability of roster spots – it does not consider specific coaches or teammates in the selection or assignment process.

NOTE: Players currently on an active Travel Team roster for the Fall 2020 season do NOT need to tryout this fall for the spring season.

Practice starts in April, with games through June.  Teams participate in tournaments over holiday weekends and will have games and practices over school holidays during the seasons.  As travel soccer will conflict with many other sports, there is an expectation of participation even in these instances.  We do our best as a club to accommodate the needs of all players, and provide as much flexibility as we can, but we ask that you be mindful of the demands of the program and the impact it may have on the entire team, including those of your other sports commitments as well.

If you or your child are unable to make this commitment, then the travel program may not be the best choice at this time.

The WSA Travel Program consists of our Windham Travel teams, and our South Central Soccer Club (SCSC) teams.

Windham Travel starts with our U8 EDP (Early Development Programs) divisions and goes up to U12.  The schedule consists of 2 practices per week led by a professional trainer or qualified coach, and 1 to 2 games per weekend during the season.

The SCSC program is designed for players from U13 through U15 and is more similar in nature to the local Club teams.  In addition to the U13 through U15 teams established in the fall, we anticipate that we will once again have at least one “SENIOR” boys’ team and one “SENIOR” girls’ team.  These will range between U16 and U19.  The age groups for the SENIOR teams will be established based on the age and number of players that tryout.  The SCSC program has 3 practices per week (except for our senior teams, which have 2 practices per week) that are all led by a professional coach/trainer. Players are encouraged to make all 3 practices for the U13-U15 teams and 2 practices for the U16-U19 teams, with 1 to 2 games played each weekend.

If selected for the spring, the costs are prorated from the normal, full year fees.  This year, registration for the Spring Season for Windham Travel will be $225 and for South Central it will be $325 (Fees cover registrations, training, tournaments, etc.).  Uniforms are purchased separately (cost is approximately $75-$85) and ordered by the parents using a link that will be provided.  Uniform kits are updated every 3 - 4 years.  Current uniforms are expected to be in use and available through Spring 2025.

Please note: Fees are non-refundable with the following exceptions:

- a player is NOT selected for a travel team
- a player rescinds their candidacy PRIOR TO any team placement/announcements
- an INJURY (prorated)
- Any/All tryout fees are non-refundable

We encourage ALL of you who have an interest in our competitive travel programs to review the requirements, talk as a family, and if the program is right for you, COME ON DOWN!  We'd love to see you at the tryouts.

Tryouts will be held (rain or shine!) as follows:

Windham Soccer Travel Teams – U8 – U12 (boys and girls): Saturday, November 13, 2021, 10:30-12:00 at Griffin Park (rear fields)

SCSC Teams – U13 – U19 (boys and girls): Sunday, November 14, 2021, 10:30-12:00 at Griffin Park (rear Fields)

There is no cost to tryout!

Please use the link below to take you to the registration page to register for the tryouts by 11/12 for Windham Soccer Travel teams and by 11/13 for SCSC Travel Teams.

Griffin Park Entrance and Exit

Good afternoon!  We hope everyone is ready to enjoy the long holiday weekend ...

Just a quick reminder from the town, who is currently working on adding additional signage and working with the Windham PD to increase patrols and awareness:

For those of you using Griffin Park – please note that traffic is ONE WAY - there is SINGLE entrance, and a SINGLE exit

The sole Entrance is the one closest to Johnson’s Farm, and applies to both lanes of the parking lot.  Due to safety, we want to remind you not to enter through the exit.

Please remind family members who might be visiting the Park for the day as well as help spread the word to any visiting teams, as we are extremely concerned about the safety of our residents, especially our kids, in the parking lot.

Thank you!
